Pittsburgh
I used the opportunity of the 25th Anniversary of the International Bridge Conference to develop a series of Pittsburgh bridges that I displayed at the convention. Pittsburgh is truly a "bridge city" with more than 1,700 bridges in the metropolitan area. It was also the headquarters of steelmakers as well as the American Bridge Company - firms vital for the design and construction of bridges around the world. It was great to discover the city's bridges - and to find those aspects that make them unique. One element is color. Many of the bridges are painted in a deep yellow-gold color that glows against a blue sky!
I continue to add additional Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania bridges on a regular basis.
