Urban Landscape
Since 2001, I’ve worked on an occasional series of urban landscapes. The drawings focus on change. Buildings that have changed function – from banks to church to resale shops – are one theme. Another is structures that have been mangled by time. Architectural features that are lopped off, or buildings that suffer incongruous additions, are the focus of a number of the drawings. Finally, I examine sites where things should be – but they are missing. The missing house in a row, the fragment of a doorway, I examine the void.
